Ayung's class 2 & 3 rapids wind through a deeply carved valley with towering waterfalls and enormous cliffs of prehistoric times. Tropical jungle shadows shimmer on river pools, then white water once more breaks the serenity of this environtment. Keep your eyes open along the way for the occasional glimpse of brilliant blue Javan kingfishers or lazy lizards sunning on rocks.
